Basic Hemi Block Preparation

Trial fit and measure lifter to lifter bore clearance. Hone or bronze bush/index
as required.
Pre-fit head gasket. Machine intake valve eyebrows in standard block.
Drill exta steam holes in siamese block.
Remove main caps and check for proper fit. Chamfer main bearing bores.
Break sharp edges of mating surfaces.
Grind and de-burr complete block.
Open up pushrod holes.
Clearance intake pushrod channels.
Machine oil pickup boss for stroke increases. Machine lower bores for rod
clearance when required.
Machine for gear or belt drives when required.
Re-tap all block threaded passages. Drill and tap for rocker oiling
upgrade when required. Tap oil suction passage at oil pump to 1/2" pipe
when external oiling used. Perform oil system modifications when required.
Install and hone intermediate shaft bushing. Trial fit shaft.
Align hone mains. Install ARP studs when required.
Remove head dowels and set up block with BHJ Block-Truing Fixture.
Machine and equalize decks. Break all sharp edges. Chamfer head
bolt and passages. Reinstall head dowels.
Perform sonic test and record.
Optional partial fill of "Hard Block" when higher strength required.
Install BHJ Bore-True Plate. Index and bore cylinders.
Install BHJ O-ringing plate when required. Machine for O-ring or
receiver grooves.
Install and torque BHJ deck plate. Hone cylinders to size on CK-10.
Install cam bearings.
Wash block and prepare for trial assembly.
